From many hill villages the nearest health post is a three-hour walk. Ordinary conditions become serious ones simply because they are found late.
Together with local health posts we run mobile camps through the year: general treatment, eye checks, antenatal care for pregnant women and growth monitoring for young children.
A camp on its own solves nothing. So we train, equip and cover the travel costs of female community health volunteers — the people who are still there the week after the camp packs up.
